Progression
AP/GP/HP term and sum calculations.
The Progression Calculator is a specialized tool for analyzing mathematical sequences. It supports three main types of progressions: Arithmetic Progression (AP), Geometric Progression (GP), and Harmonic Progression (HP). This calculator is extremely useful for students of algebra and calculus, as well as for financial analysts modeling growth or decay. It is organized into several tabs to handle different calculations for each progression type. For an Arithmetic Progression (AP), where each term is found by adding a constant 'common difference' to the previous term, you have two options. The 'AP Term' tab calculates the value of a specific term (aₙ) in the sequence if you provide the first term (a), the common difference (d), and the term number (n). The 'AP Sum' tab calculates the sum of the first 'n' terms (Sₙ) of the sequence. For a Geometric Progression (GP), where each term is found by multiplying the previous term by a constant 'common ratio', the options are similar. The 'GP Term' tab finds the value of the nth term (aₙ) given the first term (a), the common ratio (r), and the term number (n). The 'GP Sum' tab calculates the sum of the first 'n' terms (Sₙ). For a Harmonic Progression (HP), which is a sequence whose reciprocals form an arithmetic progression, the calculator has an 'HP Term' tab. To find the nth term of the HP, you need to provide the first term of the HP (a), the common difference of the corresponding AP (d), and the term number (n). This comprehensive tool makes it easy to explore and solve problems related to these important mathematical sequences.
